Lovely, crazy and fun concoction at the Liar’s Club...with some notes of deep, dark wood, others of a highly concentrated Duchesse de Bourgogne, some vinegar, prunes, unsweetened chocolate, dark roasted wood, wild esters. Quite unique. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA

The aroma was tart with some vinegar and roasted malt. It was tart and roasty with a chocolate and coffee finish. Hmm odd. The flavor was roasty and mildly acidic but it actually started to grow on me. Light body with a clean finish. jarspag (598), Los Angeles, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 10, 2008 On tap at Liar’s Club in Alpine. Deep brown color with draft head that settles quickly. Aroma was difficult to pick up, but comprised mostly of smoky and fruity characters with some of the sourness noticeable. The flavors are of black malts, a light roasted nose and wet earth that present an unorthodox impression. Some dark fruits mixed in with the balsamic sour notes that give a puckering finish. Kind of a strange beer. gotbeach (136), San Diego, California, USA
