Jan 3, 2009 Deep mahogany body with a khaki colored head. The aroma was caramel and bread. There was also some leather and oranges. The taste was bitter orange peels with some leather and caramel.

Jul 29, 2008 Cask at Toronado. Brown/dark amber. Small off white head. Aroma of floral, bitter hops and lightly toasted malt. Similar flavor is a bit muted, some lightly resinous hops on the end. Medium/light body, smooth. Easy drinking, but would like a bit more flavor.

Jul 15, 2008 On hand-pump at Toronado. Pours clear amber a dense and lacy off-white head. Light body, nearly still. Aroma of citrus, herbal hops and what appears to be rye... or maybe not. Light body, nearly still. Taste of cookie dough. Dry woody spice finish, that really gives me a n impression of rye. Hmmm.....

Jun 30, 2008 On-tap at the Green House Tavern in Sebastopol. Check it out! Psych. Pours dark reddish amber with a moderate offwhite head, good lace. Smells earthy hoppy, somewhat dark as well. Tastes hoppy and dark earthy sweet, slightly bitter, caramelly. The bitterness lingers nicely. Medium body, good carbonation.

May 19, 2008 On tap at Flavor in Santa Rosa. Medium copper-red amber color with a thin, fine, off-white head. Medium malt aroma with fruity malt sweetness and a bit of hops. Some grain astringency with "red" malt notes, a moderate hops backbone with some fruitiness to it, and finally some light roasted grain. Nicely balanced medium body with a nice grain fullness.

May 7, 2008 Poured from tap at Lanesplitter an amber color with small beige head. Aromas of woody pine and toasted hops. This beer has low carbonation and flavors of sweet malt then floral citrusy hops that give it a big dose of gratefruit and lingering bitterness. The palate is full with malt and has a nice balance with a slight sweetness mixed with a hoppy bitterness. I enjoyed this one. Flavored much like an IPA with more malt feel.

May 3, 2008 Tasted at the 5th Annual (2008) Triple Rock Firkin Fest. This ESB/Bitter pours a slightly cloudy medium orange gold color from the firkin. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is malty, fruity and sweet with a touch of hops. A medium bodied ESB. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are grapefruity and floral. Touch of oak. Nice balance. Soft round carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
