Dark brownish red, head was a bit thin, but that was likely the barkeep’s fault, not the Beer itself.
Beautiful and delicate flowery hop aromas, with a touch of roasted goodness. I’m a sucker for cask Beer...
Impressive body that accorded really well with the hoppy flavors that lingered long after the end of my sips. A near perfectly balanced Beer that I enjoyed.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2006 On tap at the Toronado. This was the cask-conditioned version when I was there. An amber beer with a big off-white head. I get flavors of oranges and tea. Palate is mild and smooth for easy drinking of mass quantities. A satisfying bitter finish awaits you. A pretty awesome beer, but then again, it might be the locale. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

That this holds up after all else with exceptional hop quality AND balance makes me wish upon a moon that I could have this as my own session bitter. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2005 A great session beer on tap often at the Toronado. Good hop bouquet very full and lastin bitterness with good resins. Fruit and nuts malt with a toffee leaning somewhat English in Nature. Full round mouthfeel and finishing bitterness with a touch of malt sweetness. First class session bitter. LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2005 Tap. This is yet another rating that I found written on a piece of paper in luggage. I think I had this with Grant when I met up with him last September. Dark-amber, transluscent. Crisp-hoppy IPA type of aroma. A little bit bready in the flavor, very strong hops. Lots of rye in the flavor as well.
