Jun 4, 2008 On tap at Toronado. This black ale poured with a decent beige head. There is a nice caramel malt flavor with some pine and banana notes and a slightly bitter finish.

May 17, 2008 Draft at Toronado: dark reddish brown. Aroma is sweet malts with caramel, chocolate, molasses, light smoke. Medium bodied but very drinkable. Not bad, starting to like this brewer’s offerings.

May 12, 2008 Poured from tap at Sonoma Wine exhange a dark reddish brown with large white head. Nose is quite floral hoppy with some grain and caramel notes. Flavor is lightly smoked, with some green leaf vegetable (was told it was redwood tips as well as hops), roasted grain, coffee, and maybe a dash of licorice. The palate is slightly sweet big malt mouthfeel that has a mild bitter finish with a green leafy touch (similar to pine). I like this one, different but good flavors and easy to drink.
