| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 19, 2009 On tap at The Rake. Red chestnut colour, very thin head. Nutty and far too carbonated making it hard to drink, some lovely rich jammy fruit. Its a rich ESB in the malts, but not too much hops. Seeing that no hops are used, that makes sense. Fine is a bit fruity sweet. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Coca-Cola brown beer, with neary no head. Coffee nose, soft-roasted coffee beans, sweetish. Very dry woody, tad fruity, very roasted, and really not hoppy! Coffee returning in the finish, and pine. Not very well-bodied, well-carbonated, slick. Very special, and an unbelievable treat to have it here in Belgium! Thanks, CK! bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 19, 2009 On tap at Beachwood BBQ. Served in a tulip, clear ruby with a well-retained, one finger beige head. The aroma isn’t so much conifer, but more the bark and some earth. There’s also some toast and light scorched caramel. Flavor adds a tinge of fall leaves, but still doesn’t give me the piney conifer notes I was hoping for. There is a light twang, I’m assuming from the lack of hops and a possible infection starting? Hell, I dunno. Basically pretty malty. Bitterness peaked at a 1-2. Not dry. Moderate carbonation with a light to medium body. I love the redwoods, but they don’t make a good beer.
