Plenty of slightly roasted malt and red fruit in the aroma. More of the same in the flavour, with a touch of chocolate malt and some earthy hops in the finish. Enjoyable. Gravicask. Very fruity and malty with plenty of smokey character. Slight hops for the finish to balance it out. Not particularly full of character but an enjoyable mild if you ask me. leaparsons (4001), Leicester, Leicestershire, England May 30, 2007 Cask, Newark Fest 07. Chestnut brown with a small head. Aromas are light earthy roast malts with some oatiness. Flavours are chocolate and weetabix malts with hints of citrus. Prickly hops on the finish. Some berry fruit. Decent. hughie (2286), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Apr 7, 2007 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Rich, treacly malt aroma. Taste is sweet malt with some fruity sourness. Leaves a long caramel taste in the mouth. Liked this at first, but the appeal faded. Not sure why.
