I urge you all to go and sit in the Pendle Witch pub in Atherton (sandwiched between Wigan and Bolton) owned by Moorhouses. Sup away with your eyes shut and you could be forgiven for thinking you were actually in heaven. I recommend you go to this pub for their beer bash (which is held over the same weekend as the CAMRA Bent and Bongs Beer Bash held in Athertons Formby Hall which starts on the last Thursday of January). Enjoy!

apple and banana on the nose with a creamy citrus and honey flavour. full of hints of raisins and fruit with a dry bitter finish. I was a bit nervous rating this as was one of the first real ales i ever had. Yep its still as good as always.

Very clear, well kept real ale. Rich head that keeps almost all the way. Malty and a bit on the sweet side. Easily downed. Too easy for this strength, almost.Nice, slightly fruity/flowery aftertaste from the hops. Can I have anothother of this, please, Mr Barman?!

Cask gravity Dover BF 06. Copper with thin head. Nice fruit, very drinkable. Good premium bitter. Could drink a lot of this. Good balance, well made beer (as SilkTork wouldn’t say)

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Colour is amber, with a dense off-white head, staying for quite a while. Nose is fruity and sweet (almost honey scented) with apricots, oranges and mandarin. Hints of sewage as well. Taste is fruity with grapefruit and caramel, rather sweet. Ends with a long bitter finish, filled with dusty, flowery hops. Malty, full body. Surprisingly sweet, but I can’t resist the lovely hoppy finish. Refreshing.

Tasted at Chelmsford beer festival 08. Rich maltiness with a light hop finish. All in all a decent pint

Hazy amber color. Breadish malt aroma. The aroma is not impressive, but it has a far better flavor (between a 7 and an 8), with good malt, light fruitness, strong bitterness. The final (long and boldly bitter) is lightly metallic. Very good.

Cask version. Hazy orange brew. Fruity aroma with dried fruits and butter. Hoppy taste with nuts, and toffee flavors. Big bitterness and some tones of vanilla.
