| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2006 500 ml brown swingtop bottle, BBD 10/2006, purchased somewhere in Wisconsin in October 06 I think, imbibed from a Ramstein weissbier glass in late October 2006. Whew, just under the deadline! This pours a dark clear amber-brown with a voluminous, bubbly, off-white slow-decaying head....delctate perfumy floral notes emanate from the sparse dry grassiness....beautiful wafts of pale Munich malt, light and artfully balanced hints of carameliztion and just the faintest whiffs of acrid smokyness arise from the....earthy-sweet body with more of that lovely floral character, rustic wildflower honey, some chalky-mineralic notes submerged in an overall strongly sweet body, with little to no hops, just a bit too filtered and thin late in the mouthfeel though the carbonation feels natural....finish rather bitter, trace of dry woody hops along with metalic touches. Some problems, but they are slight in comparison with the achievments here: it all adds up to a magnificently complex and subtle kellerbier; I’m sure the freshness of my sample was a big factor, but this is just wonderful. Get some. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2006 Mine doesn’t have the word "alt", it just says Moosbacher Kellerbier but I’m pretty sure its the same stuff. Coppor color, inviting white head. Mild, floral nose with some malt. Dry body, a touch of fruit. Fills the mouth nicely. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Lightly hazed copper color with a smaller, tight bubbled, bone colored head. Wild honey, and floral hops aromas.Toasted malt and dark caramel as well. Very smooth in feel. Mild flavors of toasted malt, a bit of acidity and light floral hops. Simple, yet I find not glaring faults. The bottle is slightly dated, but I still find this to be a good brew that was likely better when fresh. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2007 Bottle. Swing-top 500mL. Dark amber pour. Small , but thick, white head. Toasty malts, light grassy notes, subtle hops and faint spices. Taste has light spice notes, toasted malts, soft caramel, and light grassy hops. Body is creamy and smooth. Chewy in spots. Moderate carbonation. Finishes with a slightly larger grassy hop profile, toastier malts, caramel, hint of toffee and light buttery notes. This has gotten low ratings, and as only my sixth Zwickel/Keller/Landbier, I don’t profess to be an expert on the style, but I rather enjoyed this as simply "a beer". | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2006 Being only my second kellerbier, i had no idea what to expect and found this intresting. Aroma is fruity, fresh and grassy hops also. Taste is similar very very drinkable. Assuming this is unfiltered as it was cloudy. Dickinsonbeer (3560), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2006 Like "theshocker" we also didnt have the "Alt" written on the label. Willblake brought this new brewer to Jimmacks place. Pretty decent stuff, but not great overall. This one pours a relatively clear deep gold with a thin lasting head. Aroma starts off a bit bland when cold, but as it warms, some light fruity esters come out and a nice floral herbal hop character comes through backed up by warm bready pils malt. Light caramel sweetness in the flavor with a mild hop bitterness in the end- not much else going on, except it tasted a bit fresher with more body then the harpoon kellerbier. ps- Jon rewrote my notes to give this beer a 4.5 and said "it rocks:" So I guess he either really liked it, or just wanted to mess with me. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic
