Commercial Description:
Dark golden- brown hue. Pours with a foamy white head. Spicy aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a creamy mouthfeel and dry, toasty finish showing a hint of hop character. An all natural dark beer which is brewed from an old recipe handed down from our ancestors. It’s fine filtered, spiced with the finest of hops and lavish malt. It has a full bodied aroma. Pours with a nice foam-like head.

500ml Bottle: Aroma of malts, hops, light corn, herbs and slight caramel. Poured copper/amber in color with a small, off-white head that lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of vegetables, cardboard, herbs, malts, slight hops, slight corn, slight caramel, and a hint of honey. Medium body. Lightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Vegetal, malt, and slight honey finish is slightly sticky.

Raisons and caramelly malts on the nose. Pours golden amber with no head. Biscuity malt flavor, tastes a little old, but i’m gonna try and see past the oxidation. Sweet malts with little hop presence probably due to the age. I bet fresh its not a bad beer, i’ll look for is again!

Backlog Night! This didn’t seem all that true to style, but I liked it anyway. The beer pours a clear copper color with a fluffy white head. The aroma is nicely malty with a breadiness, not complex but appetizing none the less. Flavor is biscuty and almost has a baguette character. The beer is largely malty but has some good noble hop character to balance it out. A very nice beer.

Bottle. Pours a golden amber body with a white head. Malty, toasted malt, sweet dusty with a lightly bitter earthy character. Shop Rite liquors comes thru again...

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also, is darker than exspected. The beer starts malty and fruity, notes of raisins. The finish is a bit too sourish. Still very drinkable. Good beer!

aroma of wet cardboard and soaking cereal grains. appearance is pleasant copper. flavor is very clean and shortlived, but contains a biscuity malt note and a touch of sweetness. the light sugary element is well balanced by an equally subtle bitter hop presence. a bit too dry and clean to be overtly challenging but an interesting departure from the army of pilsners out there; defined enough to warrant its own style. intriguing.
