Got this bottle at Sam’s in Chicago. Bottle had a great little pop when I opened it. Poured with a big light tan foamy, frothy head and some lace. Light typical Bavarian Weisse nose. Flavor was the same but maltier and wheaty. Also a little metallic flavor. Body is good, full with good carbonation. Color is a brownish dark amber. Ok beer, I guess. Had many better dark weisses. Finish is ok. Could be a session if you can get around the metallic thing.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a brown with a bubbly white head. Aroma is yeast and malty. Flavor is also very yeasty and lots of malt. Some caramel notes as well. Not nearly as good as the regular weisse.

Bottle. Pour mahogany body with a white head. Sweet malt, licorice, hints of soy and wheat banana and caramel. Sweet and simple.

[Flip-top bottle labeled Schwarze Weisse] Pours a clear glowing some-what dark chestnut brown with a large sudsy white head. Sweet toasted aroma, sweet fruity banana and brown sugar. Flavor is just a tad soapy, quite sweet but not as sharp or exhibiting much of a roasty characteristic. Watery mouthful with a sugary feel and really soft, almost flat, larger carbonation. I like the hefe better.

Sweet fruity yeast aroma. Cloudy brown color with a small tan head. Initially sweet with a mild bitter finish. Sweetness fades a little.
