mj (4975), Colorado, USA Oct 25, 2009 500ml swingtop. cloudy medium dark banana brown/yellow body, small white head. suitable nose, typical banana/clove/soap, medium to heavy yeast esters. texture medium to thin, chewiness is surprisingly low. lacks depth but doesn’t taste faulty at all, just simple. banana/clove/sugared wheat. fairly typical. i don’t believe this survives well in the bottle for however long it takes to import it and place it on the shelves. ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 25, 2009 500 ml swing top bottle poured a cloudy gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of wheat, straw, light yeast and light clove. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of wheat, straw, light banana and light clove with a smooth finish. iamqueensblvd (178), , Iowa, USA Oct 8, 2009 very very sweet citrus favor on the nose. Definite banana smell as well cloudy yellow pour with a very frothy white head. Very well balanced beer. bread notes mixed evenly with banana. nothing to overly sweet. great slightly thick mouthfeel and a nice flavor lingering on the palate. Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Oct 4, 2009 with a really sweet cirtusy aroma, this beer is extra thick and tastes nothing like a hefeweizen. not bad, but having this strong malty flavor coming from a german wheat beer doesn’t seem right. Bottle at some random supermarket by my house. This stuff is everywhere. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Oct 2, 2009 Bottle. Hazy orange brown with a large off-white head. Aromas are yeasty and peppery with caramel, light banana and surprising citrus. Flavours are citrus and yeast with lots of tart notes. Some sweet wheat with grapefruit bitterness and a dry finish. Different and decent. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 24, 2009 Good hefe. Pours hazy yellow with medium white head. Similar aromas and flavors as other german hefes. Average brew nothing to write home about. elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA Sep 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours cloudy light gold with a smaller-than-usual head. Palate lacked the crispness that a good wheat has. Flavor and aroma conveyed the fact that this was a typical German hefe, with its spicy yeast and wheat notes. OK, but I had this side-by-side with a Franziskaner, and the latter blew this out of the water. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Sep 10, 2009 Very impressive beer. Its got all the light body and drink ability of a wheat beer but the flavor of a hefeweizen. Also one of the freshest import beers I have ever had.
