Don’t you just love openeing those caged top bottles? Been waiting a while to drink this baby. Big poof when I released her. Pure clean hefe aroma, just like it should be. Big hypnotizing swirling pour from this unfiltered wheat with gunk on the bottom of the 500 mL bottle. Cloudy very light brown appearance. Large foaming head and this stuff has lots of good tingle in the carbonation. Good clean wheat flavor lacking overspiceness, and I’m glad. Too many wheat beers over do it on the spice. IMHO simpler is better when it comes to wheat beers. At times, it seems to have a little hop bitterness in there, and I really don’t appreciate that in a wheatie. Very nice finish and I’m surprised I’m already at the bottom of the bottle, must have been good. The only thing I didn’t dig about this brew was that small amount of hop bitterness, however, it was very well controlled.

Bottle... Hazy yellow ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is spicy and a touch acidic. Notes of clove, Bazooka® bubblegum and citrus fruit. Yeasty, sweet flavor offers spicy clove phenols, fuzzy and citrus fruit esters with mild, peppery bitterness. Medium-bodied and creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finishes crisp, fruity and lightly spicy (clove).

Pours golden yellow with thick, white, foamy head, that slowly disapates. Smell of skunky malt and slight banana, a bit of spice. Not bad. Hint of banana and touch of clove, but this has a ver heavy wheat malt character, which balances with a crisp ending from just enough hops. I may not have had the freshest one, its a bit skunky-ish. Not a bad one, though.

550 ml bottle in weizen glass. Cloudy pale yellow-orange with flat white head, some big bubbles. Musty banana-apple-spice aroma. Seems not fresh despite 06/08 date code. Slight banana honeyish flavors with lingering lagerish bitterness. Complex, but not in a good way. Somewhat heavy body for the style. Ok, but I wouldn’t have it again.

Not as good as the first Moosbacher I had, but c’est la vive. White head and yellow hazy body. Strong clove and banana nose. Grainy body with plenty of yeast and banana.

Sadly this is not as impressive as their tasty helles. Orange color, looks good. Lots of lemon in the aroma. Flavor is sweet wheat, but the flavors are not intense enough and there is no complexity and lack of spice.

(bottle, thanks Brewfiend) Pours hazy gold with a white head. Smell of wheat, but not very strong. Crisp taste that somewhat fruity, I think it’s apple, and then a lingering wheat finish.

[Bottle, thanks Brewfiend] Pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Strong yeasty aroma with some banana. Smooth beer with medium mouthfeel. It’s ok.
