Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Dec 25, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Pours a clear brownish copper brew with a creamy off-white head that has some excellent retention and great lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt, some flowery hops, a touch of milk chocolate, rye bread and some toffee. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of malt flavor and character with flavors of semi-sweet multi-grain malt, flowery hops and some chocolate. Finish is semi-dry with a flowery hop and dry and roasted rye malt aftertaste. A solid specialty grain lagered beer. JMerritt (1313), Macomb, Illinois, USA Dec 18, 2008 On tap at Moosejaw. Hazy dark orange-red with a small white head. Crisp rye aroma with chocolate malt overtones. Malty, raisin and cocoa powder flavor with a light medicinal hoppiness. Pumpernickel bread finish. A touch watery in the finish. Still, a rather nice rye.
