Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy cola brown brew with a creamy beige head that has some good retention and good lacing. Aroma of roasted dark malts, some black and Munich malt characters, a touch of molasses and toffee. Taste is smooth, creamy with little carbonation with flavors of lightly roasted and smoked dark malt, toffee and some flowery hops. Finish is semi-dry but still quite smooth with a toasted and lightly smoked dark malt aftertaste that slowly disappears. This was an excellent treatment to two of Moosejaw’s finest beers and aged together.
