Fairly strong peaty taste. Light malt, kind of odd for the style. Bone dry and earthy hop finish. Not bad at all. JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Feb 26, 2009 Copper color with a modest off-white head. Mild caramel , pale malt, peat and herbal hops aromas. Nice pale malt start. Middle fills with caramel, toffee, and hints of peat. FInish has light herbal hops and again a touch of peat. Just a hint of alcohol in the finish. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Feb 9, 2009 On draught at the Moosejaw brewpub in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Pours a semi-clear dark copper amber brew with a thick beige head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet caramel malt, some smoked peat, molasses, toffee and some flowery hops. Taste is medium to full bodied, with flavors of smoked caramel malt with peat, some toffee, chocolate, some light molasses and brown sugar, Finish is semi-sweet, no bitterness with a slight alcohol warmth.
