Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 23, 2007 Sampled on draught at the brewpub/restaurant in Wisconsin Dells. Pours a clear dark cola caramel brew with a thick and lasting off-white head and a good stick lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, sweet toffee and flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of toasted dark bread, chocolate, dried figs with a touch of banana and caramel. Finish is slightly bitter with a creamy and bready chocolate aftertaste. hero27 (19), Iowa, USA Aug 14, 2006 On-tap @ the Brewpub.
Deep mahogany color and a nice tan head of foam that leaves sheets of lacing behind it. Aroma of dark chocolate and toasted munich-style malts.
Light roasted malt flavor for bitterness and some rich chocolate in the flavor. Nutty aspect reminded me a lot of a rich nut brown ale. Medium-to-full bodied and quite smooth.
Says on the menu that this won a Silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival. I can see why. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Aug 7, 2006 (Tap) Pours dark brown with little head. Malty sweetness evident throughout, not not overpowering. Caramel and toffee notes as well. Good mouthfeel makes this one really enjoyable. One of my favorites from Moosejaw. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jul 25, 2006 Tap @ brewery. Malty caramel for aroma. Dark body with a red tynt and vitualy no head to speak of. Body was light bodied with a sweet caramel flavor. Smooth beer on the palate with some mild sweet malt aftertaste. JMerritt (1313), Macomb, Illinois, USA Dec 12, 2005 Very dark brown with a small off-white head. Malty sweet aroma. A decent amount of roast in the flavor, underlying a sweet caramel and toffee cheweyness. Caramel/toffee sweetness is slightly dominant to the roasty, cocoa aspects. Slightly thin bodied with moderate carbonation. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Nov 9, 2005 Dark Brown Coloring with Red Tints and Light Tan Skin. Sweet Toasted Malt Aroma. Follows Through on the Tongue...Along with Rye Bread, With a Dry Aftertaste. Sweet Tasting Overall.
