Soylent Green flavor, which is to say smokey and meaty. jmorrissey7 (2), USA does not count | 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Had off the tap at the restaurant in Wis Dells after a pint of the milk stout. Nice color but the aroma and taste really disappointed me. I’m not sure if it was a bad night or something but it tasted the way a box of band-aids smells when you open it. I didn’t even finish the glass. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

Very dark and a thin head. It should probably be classified as a smoke beer because the smoke is prominent in the aroma and flavor. There is also lightly roasted malt and it is mildly bitter. Very well done. badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

There ain’t nothin slight about the smoke in the flavor, though. Piles of peat and actually a little rauch malt, too. Powerful malt and a touch of caramel. Slightly bitter hop finish. Awesome! Smoke aroma but not quite like a rauch. The flavor is very similar to that of the smell. Skyview (4104), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 16, 2007 On draught at the brewpub in Wisconsin, Dells, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark copper amber brew with a thick, creamy, and lumpy off-white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of smoked peat, dark roasted multi-grain malt, a touch of toffee and some flowery hops. Taste is medium to full bodied, toasted multi-grain malt, smoked peat and some hints of scotch whiskey character. Finish is smooth, creamy, semi-dry with a light smoked pork aftertaste, with plenty of warm alcohol sensation. This has to be Moosejaw’s finest beer. I even lost track to time enjoying this beer and watching football in the brewpub that one cold Sunday.
