Commercial Description:
Milk, sugar and oats give this full-bodied dark ale additional creamy body and smoothness with just a suggestion of roasted malt character. The sweetness has hints of chocolate flavor that lasts from start to finish.

On tap at the Great Lakes Brewfest 2009. Dark brown with a medium beige head that provides minimal lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt, lactose and mild chocolate. Taste of lactose, roasted malt, mild chocolate and mild hops. Mildly chewy on the palate but not bad overall.

On tap at GTMW. Poured hazy deep brown with a well-retained cap of beige head. The aroma picked up sweet chocolate and toasted black malts accented by a little vanilla.. presented decently enough for the style. The flavor found even sweeter chocolates, some black patent, and caramel at the core with light overall roast.. just a touch smoky.. again OK. Too sweet on the palate and well-carbonated.. balance was alright.. most certainly drinkable.

Growler courtesy of Skyview. Black color with a medium head. Sweet malt aroma and lots of lactose sweetness. The milk backs off a bit in the taste, but the overall sweetness and slick malt are still there. Just a little bit of an English earthy hop bitterness to finish it off.

Very nice milk stout. Served on tap at the brewery. Pint glass with co2 pour. Creamy 1 finger head, nice lace. Sweet chocolate milk nose. Very black color. Taste is mocha then whole milk followed by roasted coffee and just a slight hoppy finish. Similar to Brau Brother’s Cream Stout. Very good representation of the style. A nice surprise.

On draught at the brewpub in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy cola brown brew with a creamy and lumpy light tan head that has some good retention and some sticky lacing. Aroma of toasted oatmeal malt, chocolate, sweet cream, lactose and some flowery hops. Taste is full-bodied, smooth, creamy with flavors of mild dark oatmeal malt, some dry molasses, lactose, and chocolate. Finish has a slight dry malt aftertaste that turns into a semi-sweet vanilla and chocolate flavor. The lactose is present in this milk stout.

Dark rich color with creamy head. Surprisingly sweet smell and flavor and goes down nice and easy.

Dark color. Smell of chocolate, malt, hops, coffee, toffee, caramel and syrup. Taste the same but there is some vanilla and cinnamon floating around my mouth. Smooth and creamy.
