Commercial Description:
This refreshing summer seasonal features a spicy hint of coriander and the subtle fruitiness of orange peel and apricot. The apricot is used to complement, rather than cover the wit bier flavors, making this a beer lover's fruit beer.

On tap. Not sure how this ended up in the fruit beer category. Cloudy yellow with a white head. The coriander is the most notable aroma but hints of wheat, clove and pepper are there too. The flavor is a wheaty malt backbone with a slight yeasty sourness. Fairly light bodied with a thin watery mouth feel. This beer is pretty light but has a decent amount of flavor.

Looked nothing like a wit (clear amber color), but sure tasted like one. The banana and spices dominated the flavor in the most extreme example I’ve seen. I hardly smelled or tasted the apricot at all, but that was alright as the other showings were so strong and enjoyable. If they put a little more work into this beer they could be top of the style (wit, not fruit).

On draft at the brewpub 7/6/05: Clear golden and moderately active. Smooth and silky and sweet like honey corn flakes. Little to no wheat or yeast tones; a bit off style.

Slightly hazy medium gold. Served with no head. Big coriander aroma. Soft body. Fleshy fruit flavors (must be the apricot) solid wheat. Great witbier. I thought there was an apricot element before I realized it was brewed with apricots, but the fruit in this is so subtle and balancing the rest of the beer it could have been an aspect of the malt and yeast instead of actual fruit. One of the best witbiers I’ve had in a long time.

(Draft: Moose’s Tooth Brewing Company in Anchorage AK) Very Belgian character in flavor and nose, but still not all that pleasing to drink; The flavor is mostly spicy coriander, minimally sweet, but very subtle apricot; The aroma is mostly spicy, and again, very little apricot; Light bodied, fairly dry on the palate; Pale yellow in color with a slight orange tint and slightly cloudy; Off-white head fades to nothing within a few minutes
