Jewel-like garnet color when held against the light with a lasting cream color head that left lots of sticky lace. Sweet grain nose. Sweet, malty beer with a hint of roasted grains and burnt sugar. Subtle hop bitterness in the finish. Nice bock. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA

It’s sweeter than the Dark Star, but similar enough to draw comparisons. Mild roastiness in the flavor as well. The nose is kind of "lagerish", with some roast and mildly sweet. Medium bodied. Medium ruddy brown body is topped by a tan head until it fades to a wide brim. Lacing is spotty. Yeah, it’s okay, I could drink this again. puzzl (2619), New York, New York, USA
