Sweet toasted malts aroma with hints of soap. Sweet malty flavour and taste, medium bodied, moderately carbonated. Sweet and light hoppy finish. Not really bad, but a tad too sweet for me. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 16, 2005 This is kind of a harsh, commercial attempt to brew a sweet but weak belgian style dark beer. It’s not bad, but when you are at a party, like I was, and this was the only beer around, you really start to get nostalgic for Miller Lite after the fourth or fifth of these puppies. It scores well in the aroma department because despite numerous people having had this poured on them (this was a MAJOR party), the general scent of the place wasn’t unpleasant. Flavor is malty and slightly roasty. Maybe some banana flavor? Palate is just a tad thin. Some hop flavor and more body would greatly help this one, still though I found it to be extremely drinkable and drink many I did. Hendo (110), Sint Anthonis, Netherlands
