malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Oct 31, 2009 Bottle at pilsnerpeter’s. Thanks to everybody for their generosity. Hazy range with lasting head and lace. Barn leather hay sour lemon pixie stix and cheese aroma. Tart barn fresh horseballs. Nice effervescence. Awesome. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Oct 30, 2009 Pale golden pour. Thin head. The nose is intensely cheesey and funky. Loads of bright stinky funkiness, must and sweaty/salty malt. Rich and intense with enough acidity on the back to cut through the intense goaty flavour. A long lingering funkiness with a nice bretty funk. Another winning brew in what is shaping up to be an awesome tasting. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Oct 21, 2009 Bottled. Lovely aroma, very sour, with a kick of lemon; pure gueuze here. The palate/carbonation was perhaps a touch too lively, with a sharpness that really interrupts the enjoyment of the acidity and blocks any complexity that may be present. Reminds me a lot of Oud Beersel. A solid effort, but certainly not the best gueuze. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Oct 14, 2009 Bottle: Hazy golden with a dense and well retained white head. Fantastic funky aroma- cheese, cobwebby molded wood, farmhouse, leather- just rustic greatness. Fluffy body with a dry sharp funkiness in the flavor. Some mild citric/lemony qualities though it’s not very acidic but it’s got a ton of funk- leather, cobweb, tannic moldy wood. Bone dry, complex, absolutely funky- awesome! yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Oct 7, 2009 Cloudy orange color with a fluffy head. Aroma is sweet and cheesy, mildly sour, citrus and is just great. Flavor is sweet and sour, some funk and citrus. Smooth and semi dry and just delicious. j12601 (1150), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Oct 4, 2009
Bottle courtesy of Andy at Peter’s tasting. Pours a light hazy orange with a medium sized white head. Brett, hay, lemon, wood and funk. Great aromas. Medium bodied, big brett and lemon. Finishes dry with more lingering brett. Absolutely gorgeous.
