Spontanious weekend 07. This is the highst carbonated gueuze iv ever had and looked great. Infact i commented on how i sat there for 5 mins before drinking it and i could hear it fizzing throguh the festival the whole time. Notes say: Another spot on gueuze, Dry sour but not harsh, balanced refreshing ye haa of a bucket?

Bottle. Vintage 2003. Average off-white fizzy head that mostly diminished. Good lacing in glass. Golden color with a slight clear and flat body. Lovely mix of apple, pear, vinegar, citrus and some spice. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated acidic notes with some sweetness. Light acidic and lingering finish.

Bottle at the Hop Duvel, Gent. Pours a hazy golden with a large rocky white head showing good lace as it settles back into the glass. Interesting aroma, somewhat fresh and almost flowery, with musk, raw grapes, and wet barn in the background. The palate has a very spritzy feel to it, almost a little too much... Wickedly dry, with champagne like flavours... grapes, yeast, vinegar and pear. The finish is long, tart, dry, and mildly fruity. Fantastic gueuze.

Vintage 1991 - Clear cobber body, big bubbled white head, ending up as a beautiful creamy white edge; Beautiful deep complex, very settled nose, fresh and rotten apple, barrel aged vinegar like sharp tones, wood, a little cowshit, all this in a very good and balanced combination; Full super balanced body, very little sharp carbonation, warm apple juice like texture; A very little bitter, but sour and acidy long finish, lots of aroma, apple and wood. It needs a little time in the glass to unfold, but then it becomes amazing. Another amazing Gueuze, they keep on impressing me, young as old..................... Alright a new bottle of Moriau - 8-3-7-4-16=3.8 - Dark golden body with a big white head; Big warm ripe apple fruity nose, a little dry barrel brett touch as well; Only slightly apple fruity acidy, sweet, a very little dry; Very long apple sweet finish, slightly brett like dry. Quite sweet fresh very drinkable Geuze. Somewhat a bit to simple.

[Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm] Hazy deep golden, lively head. Citric lemony barnyrad aroma. Has soem malt sweetness, plenty of horse blanket and rounded mouthfeel that is eased of by spritzy carbonation and freshening acidity. Solid gueuze, but not as intense and complex as some of the true masterpieces.

37.5cl bottle, Delerium Cafe, Brussels. Clear amber orange colored body. Nose has some oxidized notes, some medicinal nail polish (acetone) and old fruit, very musty - this is all quite good though, not offensive. Body is moderately slick, acidity is mostly medicinal, with a sweaty, oily scent. Almost some nutty tuna smells in the nose as well, like fishy vinegar. And I’m not exactly sure why, but in geuze these things seem to work. Sharp acidity, more thin than most oude geuze, with some sweet light fruity pear notes, but nothing really remarkable. Has a good, musty, refreshing feeling to it, although it’s not a very complex or rich geuze.

Bottle at Plan B, RBESG, August 2005 (I think). Hazy orange/gold colour. Fairly aroma - not too much farmyard. The palate is very dry, intensely lemony and quite sharp, with a slaty, mineral mouthfeel. Quite austere.
