1991 VINTAGE 18 YEARS OLD. [Bottle @ Odense Tasting, 14th February 2009, remembered for Carsten BeerMouths fantastic 3 meals highend gastronomy.] Although it’s long time I’ve tasted these brewdrops I remember some very wellbalaneced notes of apples, soft citrus, oak. Like eau de vie for summertime. Not true geuze, but smooth in a great way without too much sweetness.

Bottle, 37,5 cl. (bought @ Geers) Light hazy orange-golden color, with a medio rocky white head. Aroma fruits, woody, malts. Medium to full body. Taste is great. Good in balance, dry, sourness, yeast, vinegar and fruits. The finish is long, sour, dry, and mildly fruity. Wow like this gueuze !

Vintage 1991 - Clear cobber body, big bubbled white head, ending up as a beautiful creamy white edge; Beautiful deep complex, very settled nose, fresh and rotten apple, barrel aged vinegar like sharp tones, wood, a little cowshit, all this in a very good and balanced combination; Full super balanced body, very little sharp carbonation, warm apple juice like texture; A very little bitter, but sour and acidy long finish, lots of aroma, apple and wood. It needs a little time in the glass to unfold, but then it becomes amazing. Another amazing Gueuze, they keep on impressing me, young as old..................... Alright a new bottle of Moriau - 8-3-7-4-16=3.8 - Dark golden body with a big white head; Big warm ripe apple fruity nose, a little dry barrel brett touch as well; Only slightly apple fruity acidy, sweet, a very little dry; Very long apple sweet finish, slightly brett like dry. Quite sweet fresh very drinkable Geuze. Somewhat a bit to simple.

Bottle: Hazy golden with a dense and well retained white head. Fantastic funky aroma- cheese, cobwebby molded wood, farmhouse, leather- just rustic greatness. Fluffy body with a dry sharp funkiness in the flavor. Some mild citric/lemony qualities though it’s not very acidic but it’s got a ton of funk- leather, cobweb, tannic moldy wood. Bone dry, complex, absolutely funky- awesome!

Bottle courtesy of Andy at Peter’s tasting. Pours a light hazy orange with a medium sized white head. Brett, hay, lemon, wood and funk. Great aromas. Medium bodied, big brett and lemon. Finishes dry with more lingering brett. Absolutely gorgeous.

Poured a hazy golden color with a large, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of sour lemons, sweat, horseblanket and dusty leather. Taste of sour grapes, apple skins, some lemon tartness, with a sugary sweetness to balance this all out. Crisp, with a lengthy sourness to really make this a nice gueuze.

Spontanious weekend 07. This is the highst carbonated gueuze iv ever had and looked great. Infact i commented on how i sat there for 5 mins before drinking it and i could hear it fizzing throguh the festival the whole time. Notes say: Another spot on gueuze, Dry sour but not harsh, balanced refreshing ye haa of a bucket?
