Pours a hazy amber golden with a creamy light brown head. Very fresh and tart cherry aroma. Medium body with a very soft mouthfeel, a little low in carbonation with sweet’n’sour cherry accents. Lightly tart finish. A real treat - a very, very pleasant and balanced Kriek. 300509 omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

Medium sweet with surprisingly mild acidity The malt flavours actually dominates over fruit and acidity, and a vague hint of cardboard makes me believe it has passed it’s peak. Some more freshening acididty in the finish. joergen (8635), Frederiksberg, Denmark

This beer is not allowed to be sold by EU-rules. F*** the rules! Pinkish red color, no head. Bought in Café Moriau in St Pieters Leeuw. The landlady said it was the very last kriek her brother made himself. Must be 5 years old or so. Amazing aroma. Cherry, cherry pits, almonds, ash. No carbon whatsoever. Quietly sweet cherry flavor. Wood, ash, bitter almonds, fresh cheese. Short aftertaste with sherry, bitter almonds and cherry wine.
Absolutely amazing beer. has aged well and has developed like an old sherry. Thin, but complex and full of character. I will return to St Pieters Leeuw for more if i ever get the chance. 2 points extra for breaking EU-rules.
38 cl bottle, about 7 years old. Strawberry and raspberry in the aroma mixed with the obvious cherries, just a bit perfumed. Perfumed somewhat faded kriek flavor with notes of rosewater and vanilla. Limited sourness, marmalade-like cherry fruit. Cherry pits. Aspartame sweetness, marzipan. Just a bit thin. Loved it. MesandSim (5955), London, Greater London, England

An original 75cl 1998 bottle. Another of Jacobs very generous offerings while he, Sim and I sat outside Plan B. As Jacob so rightly pointed out we needed something to go with the Loerik and this was his selection from his incredibly well stocked cellar that in all honesty had me drooling. Good red amber looks that are probably passing over to amber due to age. It’s 9 years in the bottle show in the nose also but it has lasted really well with lovely soft smokey notes and just a delicate hint of cherry. Flavour is very Boon like with a little too much sweet stuff for me and not enough sourness. Still rather tasty however. Heavy burnt brown sugar for the finish that is actually much better than it sounds. A rare treat and once again I must say thanks to Jacob. For a bogan, you are a great bloke... A bottle from the origional Moriau brewery, not Boon, so a few years old indeed. Aroma is rammed full of yeasty esters, quite dusty tammed down funk. Taste is similar quite a beast forsure, exremly drinkable however the cherrys flavour has gone and whats left of the fruit character is just general tartness. I took a small reaction to this one, my first beer to find im slightly allergic too, so a special moment foresure.
