RCL (1083), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Jul 10, 2008 Sampled on tap. Pretty mediocre. Rather metallic with some whole grain bread elements.
kenb (945), Oregon, USA Oct 11, 2008 16 oz can via Hagan. Pours a semi hazy copper woth a massive nitro head (via widget), Nose is grain and biscuit. Taste is toasted grains, biscuit, some roastiness, and some earthy hps. Carbonation is perfect as is the silky mouthfeel. Body is medium. An excellent sessionable brew! As_a_Newt (73), blackpool, Lancashire, England Oct 2, 2008 bottle. Lovely red woody colour, slightly off white head. light on the nose. flavour is malty and sort of sultana flavour. nice beer really. SaintMatty (519), Tallinn, Estonia Sep 25, 2008 500ml Bottle - Copper/amber in colour. Fruity aroma with malt and a hint of tea. Mildly fruity taste with dried fruit and a mild hoppy element. Bungalo22 (306), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Sep 19, 2008 Had from the can and the can must have been bad. Just nasty with a dry malt like taste all the way through. It felt almost as if it was powdered. I need to go back to this one. Ryan82SM (26), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 16, 2008 Nice, malty smell up front, but not overwhelming. The appearance is similar to other English browns, such as the more known Newcastle. I did detect a bit of a banana flavor in this ale, but once again, not too much. The palate is soft and pleasant. I would describe this as a "polite" drink. Nothing overwhelming or outstanding. Would pair nicely with some curry.
