Just saw the cask of this. Nice. Gotta get a hold of one of those. As far as this beer goes, it’s wonderful. Imported by Total Beverage Solution in SC, USA, this English ale is very smooth, with a nice hoppy finish. Slightly sweet on the tongue, smooth and hops aftertaste.

A golden amber ale with a thick receeding off white head. A very sweet vanilla malt, with light vinous notes, some treacle, pleasant oxidation effects. In mouth, a good treacle and woody maple malt, lightly oily, a bit hoppy, floral. Not bad, a tad cloying.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear orange color with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly skunky at the beginning but underneath that is a sweet and malty nose with some hints of honey. Flavor is bitter at the beginning with some light malty sweetness coming through at the end. Both flavors mix but then disappear quickly, leaving a dry and lightly bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a copper color with a light off-white head. Not much of an aroma, maybe a hint of roasted malts. Similar taste, becomes more apparent after a few minutes. Finishes crisp. Light to medium bodied. Not bad.

clear bottle 355 ml
Appearance: clear amber with sparkle of gold. Mid bright white top , somewhat creamy
Nose: Oxidized frontal aroma. Butter followed by malty nose , dipped in honey.
Flavor/Palate : More of same. Slight bitterness feel with straight malt base. Oily body dipped in butter. Pointless brew.

amber pour. fairly big white head. Grainy aroma with some caramel malt and some light hoppy notes. Flavor is fairly benign. Not much to speak of. Cereal, malt, grain, corn and light hops. Meh.

Pours a crystal-clear orange-amber with a big fluffy head that recedes slowly. Very much like a common European lager in sweet corn smell and not much else. Boring aroma, in other words. Flavor is a little more interesting, wtih bitterness at the back of the mouth (though not from grapefruity hops), cheap malts, no fruit or said nuttiness to speak of. Okay, maybe a little nuttiness if I concentrate on it. The sheer wateriness of this brew kills me. Mouthfeel is dull, boring. Drinkable, but very unextraordinary and forgettable. Overall, fair plus.

Pours dark amber with a 1 finger fizzy beige head that has good retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is grainy malt, grass, a little skunk, toasted wood, planty hops and mild flora hops. Flavor is toffee, grainy malt, toasted biscuit, slightly skunky hops, apple, butter, grass and burnt marshmallow. Finish is slightly bitter and earthy. Palate is thin and oddly very slick. Overall this is a decent but somewhat underwhelming brew.
