| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 1, 2006 Medium ornage body with a slight off white head. The aroma is iced tea with some caramel and light toffee. There is also some earthy dirt goodness. The taste is light toffee with some bitter tea and some grapefruit rinds. This could use a little more malt to balance out the dry finish. Otherwise, an ok bitter. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 29, 2006 Deep golden body, very light head. Heavy malted hops in the aroma, some light wheat accents. Good english ale flavor, very typical of the style. Some light, but smooth hops in the ending. Magicdave6 (5520), London, Greater London, England
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 20, 2006 This was a poor show alround. Burntish malts leads a rubbish aroma.
Taste is also unbalanced and one dismentional, with bad carbonation.

Malty, caramel, sugar , sweet toffee. Enjoyable beer. I had ’speckled hen’ few years back, but didn’t enjot it, either bad bottle or I had not weaned myself off lager then! However I thoroughly enjoyed this one...........reduced to 79p per bottle at local Asda.
