Jul 15, 2005 This is nothing more than a bog standard bottled bitter, looks ok, head lasts reasonably well, but there is little on the nose or palate that grabs me...inoffensive, granted I’ve had worse, but thanks and goodbye! Sainsburys, part of a Morland Selection Pack, £5.99 for 1bot each of this,Old Speckled Hen,Original Bitter and Hens Tooth.

Jun 26, 2005 Dark gold with a strong aroma of hops and tea. Flavor is very smooth, but less hoppy than the aroma would suggest. Spicy malts combine with a juicy, appley flavor. The finish is subdued, short and slightly bitter. Not watery like other clear bottled English imports.

Copper brown color, fine creamy tanned head. Strong pinewood-hoppy aroma with notes of toffee and ash. Medium-bodied. Flavor is mix of oaky hoppyness and caramelly sweetness, but sweetness is not dominating. Soft bitter aftertaste. Good session beer.
