Oct 7, 2004 A very lively beer, that blew the top of when opened. The color is a hazy red amber with a light brown huge head. The aroma is surprisingly sour - very nice - with clear notes of black currant, but also lemon. The flavor is sweet from the black currant, but on a quite sour, very fresh background, other notes is of lemon, grapefruit, and hints of wood.

Jul 22, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Reddish blue beer with a small, bubbly head. Very fresh nose with lots of black currant, and the berries shine through all of this beer. The acidity from the berries adds to the lambic’s tartness making this a rather sour beer - althoough with some added sugar. 180999

Sep 27, 2008 Bottled (BBE 2007), not sure how long this has been in my coldcellar. Deep rubyreddish colour with small off-white head. Aroma is lots of black currants and other dark berries with some mild sourness to it. Flavour is quite much the same with some slight artificial notes as well as also blueberries.

Nov 22, 2000 Is it just me or are Mort Subite’s fruit beers underrated. They’re not Girardin, but I think with the moderately assertive tartness they make a much better introduction to lambic than certain more popular, but much sweeter examples.

Hazy brown, nut brown, creamy head. Strong cassis aroma. Sweet, juice, sugary flavor, also some dry woody flavors (cassis grains). Quite artificial.

Jan 27, 2003 Updated: Jun 26, 2005Big frothy head. Strong cassisaroma. Sweet and sour with a strong cassis flavor. A bit thin and watery. Rather artificial, still nice to drink.
Brownish pink color, slightly cloudy. cassisaroma, artificial. A tad sweet, but with a strong dry out effect. Slightly medecinal. Just a bit of bittery sourness. Maybe there isn’t only cassis added , but also cranberry.
