| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Mar 30, 2009 Good Lord, what is that? I’m not familiar with horrible fruit taste... Someone gave me that bottle, that I found it had been stored horizontally for I don’t know how long. I don’t know if the taste had been altered but I am really not willing to try another one of these in the next quarter-century. Oversour much too unsubtle badly mixed rasberry juice dominating everything. I really, really disliked this one. But I can’t put all 1’s because some weird people like that quality wicked stuff. My stomach is churning thinking of it. Papillon (177), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2009 375 mL bottle with a mushroom-shaped cork. Pours a deep ruby with a thin rocky head leaving lace on the sides. The aroma of raspberry and raspberry jam stands out over the malt-floral-fruity bouquet. It is one of the more delightful aromas I’ve come across so far. The distinct reddish colour makes it look almost like a rosé wine. Lemon-sour flavor comes through with the raspberry with a lemon rind-raspberry sour/tart/bitter aftertaste followed by a clean finish. A bit of sediment in the bottle tells me this beer may be bottle-carbonated and not filtered and pasteurized. Belgians are my personal favorite and this one earns a high score although much of it may be my personal opinion. An exceptional brew with a champagne price. I’ll have it on New Year’s Eve. nooksack (4), British Columbia, Canada does not count | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Sour like lemon juice. Floral nose with hay, grass, and citrus notes. Long, astringent finish. Thin and fizzy, heavily sour. Light sweetness accented with vinegar. chops (60), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy orange to pinkish sort of colour with a thin fizzy white head. Nose is distinctly sour raspberries with not much else in there. Flavour does taste a little more like beer. There is some malt in there as it turns out. Not a lot, just lingering around in the background, it is a pretty light beer. The raspberries are very prominent. It is almost a fruit beer, really, but not quite, there is a little bit of something extra. I can not quite pin it down, but something that makes it more appealing than a fruit beer. The raspberries are tart, but not overpowering, and it may be that there is enough malt to make it still seem like beer. Mouthfeel is pretty sharp, lots of carbonation, almost like a soda, but a small step down from there, not really very thick, but it suits the fruit better to be a little lighter I think. Interesting. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2008 A pale brownish ale with a thin big bubbled white head. A light raspberry remains, rather funky, a bit of popcorn. In mouth, a bit oxidized, sweet honey and raspberry with maple final. Strange. Bottle was BB 2004. Old Stock Tasting June 2008. terrybail (339), London, Ontario, Canada
