25 cL bottle at Ølbaren, comes as Original Gueuze. Pours clear and golden orange with a collapsing white head. Dry wheaty and acidic aroma. Flavour is sweet and light acidic. Light acidic bite in the finish. Remains (too) sweet throughout the finish.

Bottled 37.5cl. It pours a a copper beer with a lively carbonation and a creamy slightly tanned head. The nose is of vinegar, fennel and sour apples. Sweet malty with a low bitterness. Very sweet cloying taste with hints of apricot, fennel and and apples. Sour. Light bodied with an oak characteristic. Fabolous lacing. Lemony finish accompanied by fennel. Sweet, cloying and uninteresting.

Richmond Industry Gathering 2007. 1982 bottle, my first bottle of beer older than me. Clear golden body with a small white head. Very sweet heavy caramel aroma. Light sour flavor, but a huge caramel foreground. Certainly overly sweet, full body with low carbonation.

Draft in Brussels. Lots of sour, orangey color. Ok but not a serious geuze fan myself.

Nice deep amber with a huge, nice head. the aroma is both sour and sweet with hints of malt. The flavour is primarily sweet, but it does have a refreshing sourness, and the expected notes of barnyard and damp basement are almost not there, but I do find malt and fruit. It’s surprisingly sweet, and as such it must be a disappointment to the hardcore lambic-lover. But to me it was nice, uncomplicated and refreshing.

Is this "Gueuze Sur Lie"?
Draught (Mort Subite, Brussels) as Gueuze Sur Lie
Glowing hazy orange. Good sharp aroma. Fairly sharp taste. Some caramel. However, on the whole a bit thin. Apricot aftertaste.

Hazy dark golden with a fluffy white head leaving some nice little lace. Fruity, grassy aroma with some subdued barnyard. Surprisingly sweet, with the right flavours in the background, but a borderline Faro impression. Still, it’s better than most beers out there...
