Dry taste of fermented apples and also some artificial sweetener. A good gueuze, but not as good as the oude gueuze. winkle (453), Brisbane, Australia

Sour latic nose (what a surprise). Sweet/sour and slightly honeyed flavour that lasts to a dry finish. Not as complex as I’d hoped but a very attractive looking beer - enjoyable and moreish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Pours a dark amber with a medium head. Aroma was spicy sweet. Flavour was not as sour as expected. Effervescent mouthfeel, very buttery sweet tones, with a cardboard-ish aftertaste. rwgould (58), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 10, 2007 My first lambic, from the bottle and not in a proper glass. Thick fine foam that does not dissipate quickly. Pours into a dark amber colour, but high fizziness makes it appear very refreshing on this hot afternoon. Smells very sour and sweet, reminiscent of a Berlinner Weisse. Aroma is not very strong. Taste does not match the aroma - not very sour at all. Very smooth, filmy palate. Strong cask taste. Not bad, but probably wouldn’t but buy again. presario (3010), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 6, 2007 Updated: Jul 8, 2007Very thick foam leaves rings down the glass as it settles into a dollop on the dark amber beer. Nose is sour with hints of wet dog and sugary fruit. Sweet. Not as sour or as complex as expected, but still some surprise notes of butter and fruits. Not sure how much I taste fruitiness and how much that is my perception from the sourness. Wood and nut in the finish. Perhaps a hint of smoke in the aftertaste. Found by the end of the bottle I was not much interested in another. robinvboyer (1444), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2007 its got the barnyard aroma you look for in a good lambic, but its lacking in other parts of the beer. What sets this apart from a wicked lambic like a Drie Fonteinen or a Cantillon is it’s lacking big time in the sour tart category, yes its sour and tart, but not nearly what you would expect, its pretty weak. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Sour/tart fruit characteristics in the aroma are light and pleasant. Clear, brown amber body has lots and lots of tiny bubbles and some bubbly lacing. Quite unexpected sweet flavour. Medium body has a nice sour texture. Very lovely!
