It tastes to the novice like cider - lots of sour apples, citrus and acidity. A very tart palate, but easy to drink with a good mouth feel. Underneath that cidery flavour is a distinct yeasty more typicaly ’beer’ flavour, a bit like and undercoat (an unflatering anaology). The two layers work well together and give the beer some depth, although I found the tart element a bit one-note. Looked good in the glass (a brandy bulb), warm orange colour with a big head, strong lacing on the glass. I think a cold one would refreshing on a hot day, but I couldn’t drink more than one small bottle at a sitting. I’m looking forward to trying more complex gueuze beers. Warm nose. Mouth is slightly acetic, gueuzey typical taste, a little more vinous than others though. Palate is warming and fruity. Slightly watery, and a bottle of this and the chips at Dovetail left me feeling decidedly ill, not sure which it was... raymondwave (878), Finland
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 28, 2007 This is a difficult one. Not familiar with this genre of beers, so to me it feels like drinking a cider. Apples, sour lemon, quite sweet all in all. It’s more dense and fuller than your average cider, so I like this better, but it still doesn’t feel like a beer. Actually it was better than I thought. benpickens (136), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Taste is fruity with some lime and apples with some sweetness coming through with a sour finish. well composed, maybe too well for a spontaneous fermented beer Dezzilu (212), Whitmore Lake, Michigan, USA

Nice looking copper colour to boot. The flavor is closer to cider then to your average beer, kind of reminding me of a shanty. No bitter aftertaste, just apples. A somewhat refreshing beverage, but not a great beer. With my rerate I an tell you that I couldn’t ever finish this first bottle (which says a lot) Magicdave6 (5551), London, Greater London, England
