| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Pours very nicely into a Duvel chalice, with massive head, golden colour, plenty of bubbling. I jammed my nose into the head (literally, now it’s all over my nose) and couldn’t smell much - some kind of grain, some fermented sour mash, maybe a little alcohol. The taste is like a fermented juice, very sweet, kind of watery, lots of tastes here that I haven’t had in any other kind of beer. This is my first Gueuze Lambic by the way, which probably explains a lot. Not sure about this one, it’s unique and rather tasty, probably an acquired preference if you know what I mean, but I didn’t mind it. Maybe the style’s just not for me. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA

Off white head and golden color. Slight saltiness, creamy and malty, cake like flavors with some flour, slight sweetness and some lemon lime. Short sour duration. Tasted good in this spot. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 20, 2009 375ml Bottle shared with Grand Genie. Paid $2,00 at the corner store Peluso in Montreal. The bottle was 24 years old ***85-06***. Best before 1995-06. Clear golden appearance with no head. Aroma: crab apples, sour, rubarb, apple juice, candy sugar, and smells like the Unibroue Quelques chose 2002. Flavor: light sour taste, apples and cherries. Palate: light body, oily with an apple cherry chalky finish. Guerde (710), Welcome, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 19, 2009 (bottle from OSLO, thanks Al!) Pours gold with a small off-white head. Aroma of pickled onions mixed with brown sugar, acetone, cheese, and apple skins. The taste is really sweet with a lot of brown sugar and apple skin that dries out a bit on the finish. Little bit of lemon zest as well, but this tastes more like a faro than a gueuze. Madsnp (627), Odense C, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours amber coloured with a small lacing egg white head. Mild and fruity aroma with notes of cherries, apples and sugar. Weak and semi sweet flavour with notes of berries and sugar. Very easy drinkable - but it ain’t the real thing baby.. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 15, 2009 375ml bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours a clear, brassy copper color. A thick, foamy, off-white head is well retained, leaving patchy, splotchy lacing on the glass. The aroma shows little sourness, mostly sweet and fruity, with the odd twang of spoiled, fermenting figs and peaches. It is very faro-like in its strange sweetness. Flavors show more of the same, lightly tart in that overly-ripe fruit sort of way, old peaches being the only distinguishable component. The palate is medium bodied, most of that coming from the sugar. This gueuze is not my cup of tea. Way too sweet.
