2003 vintage. Orange in color with some lacing. Aroma poured out with lots of raw grain and yeast. The taste was initially sweet but faded to a hint of green grape and apple. Finishes dry with a little oak and green grapes, like it was aged in white wine barrels.

Bottle at Heffer, A’dam. A very sweety, fruity lambic. In this case strong taste of raspberry. Fresh tasting. Good enough.

Bottle, own shallow chalice glass, oddly served at room temperature @ the Mort Subite café, Brussels.
Big, big frothed up cappuccino-style, white head adorned an opaque, orange-gold body. Held held strong and daubed some wicked lace-work down the glass. Tight acidic notes in the aroma, sour lemons, bitter oranges, rusty ’tin-can’ and old cellar must. Tempered, gentle acidic citric fruit sourness in the mouth, nice showing of peppery spices and gently astringent with a little baby-spew and goat hair on and in the swallow. Finish is quite short, fading well as it goes down. Carbonation is very light, creamy but thin in body. Becomes a touch woody as it goes and a little candy sweetness shows, but this doesn’t stop it from being a nice quaffer. It’s crowd-pleasing stuff, but I did like it. Summery!!!

Quick pop-in at the Mort Subite in Brussels. On draught. A hint of acidity that piqued my interest but then this sweetness came on. I can only assume that sugar had somehow found its way into blended gueuze. Finished dry.
