Toasty champagne in the nose. Creamy, winey, sweet and sour. All at once. Intricate lacework, as you’d expect. A little sugary, but this is a quenching, beguiling brew. Barley malt, sugar, spices, wheat, corn, hops= bit of everything. Or is it just Asti? vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA

Not sure how old this was, the bottle last best by date that could have been notched was 2004. Poured dark golden with a rocky soapy head that fell into patches. Sour tannin-like aroma with sour lemon and oak. Medium to light mouthfeel with hardly noticable carbonation. Very sour and acidic. There was a tannin aspect that reminded me of a very dry chardonnay. Finish basically continues what was on the initial taste. A nice gueze, but not my favorite. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2006 Bottle. Corked and caged. A deeper ginger ale color on the pour with lots of carbonation. Fresh and citric on the nose. Very clean palate, with a pleasent mouth pukering sensation, like a lemonade. Very nice and light. Thanks to Blankboy for the bottle. macbar (30), Italy

Beautifull sour aroma, light fruity with some yeasty hints. Medium body, little sour, with a nice balanced finish between sweet and sour. This is a nice every-day gueuze. yalnikim (781), Wellington, New Zealand

Rose-gold, bright, with a long-lasting fluffy white head and crystal lacing. Medium carbonation. Sweet nose, suggests lemon meringue pie, with background touches wheat. Becomes musty, almost sweaty, further into the glass. Sweet fruity flavour, reminding me of wine gums. Somewhat acidic through the middle, it would be puckering if not for the balancing syrupy sweetness. Medium-dry finish. Lightweight yet firm body, certainly not watery. Quite explosive carbonation in the mouth, creaming up, like a sweet/sour bubbly wine. Definitely not a quaffer: 250ml bottle is just the right amount - a lovely digestif beer. beerlady (457), lucerne, Switzerland

sweet-sour smell, spicy, smell remembers me a bit some belgian or french christmasbeers
that have spices added.( you can smell that,if you dont drink your mort subite to cold!)
sweet-sour taste too, more sweet as other beers of that style, but alltough refreshing.vine-remembering,fruity,sparkling.( between champagnelike and even mead-ressembling)certainly a good beer too for beginners in this style, before they "attack" the sourer ones.
would be nice accompagnating a beer sorbet after a good meal,or even as ingredient of such one. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
