Dark red with light red head. light cherry smell but pretty plain. Malty taste that finished with a light cherry flavor.

L’Aca, on tap. Not expecting much from this. Pretty much came in here only because it’s 5 am, I don’t have a hostel, and this place is open 24 hours. I was pretty much only looking for some delicious cherry to pass the time, and I got it. And that’s pretty much all I got. This is exactly like a pale version of New Glarus Belgian Red, a nice round and juicy cherry flavor with some warm malty things going on around it (but much less complexity and body than NG Belgian Red). Murky ruby red with pink head, island and dusting on the top with sudsy and inconsistent lacing. Racing is deep but uninteresting. Smell is straight maraschino cherry: not complex, but delicious. Great girly beer.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Lots of sweet cherry with some moderate tartness and vinegar in the aroma. Pours a hazy amber with a small soapy white head. Decent lacing. Starts with moderate vinegar and cherry but then quickly turns to a sugary sweet cherry. Finishes lightly woody. A simple example of the style, but I like the cherry flavors, even if a little sweet.

Rep. for Grimbergen says made with real cherries - tastes like Marichino cherries! Tasty but cloyingly sweet in back of mouth and finish. Tasted on tap May 25.

Large, pink-shaded head which lingers on like a cloud. The aroma is refreshing with cherry and noticable elderberries. The taste starts with a sweet fruit, then suddenly gets dry, almost sour. The finish is bitter. "Pleasant without being fantastic" as below =)

Vibrant, slightly hazy, red-gold. Unusual. Pink-hued off-white head is crystal-like and laces spectacularly. Strawberry yoghurt, turkish delight and rose wine on the nose. Acidic, fruity, tart in the mouth with a slightly syrupy sweetness holding it together. An iron-like element lends a slight bloody feel to the liquid. Powdery yeastiness in the finish. Quite flat, with an acidic rather than carbonic tingle. Thin, with the soft water profile showing through. Interesting. Pleasant without being fantastic.

Bottle. 2004 Vintage. Reddened amber with a blsuhing pink head. Nose is cherry with sour notes. Taste is sweet-sour cherry, light wood, cherry cough syrup and candy notes. Body is light and bubbly. Has some light dryness to it. Finishes sweet with light tart cherry flavors.

Reddish colour with a large dense pink head. Light tart cherry fruity aroma with notes of yeast. Fruity, light tart flavor with a dry finish.
