WeeHeavySD (1539), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA May 11, 2008 91 vintage bottle nicely brought to Bill’s sour tasting. Pours reddish, with a lil cherry nose, cherry is there in the flavor least favorite of the 3 mort subite 91 vintages I had that day.
ekstedt (1731), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 13, 2008 Bottle (25 cl), thanks rickgordon. Ruby red with a creamy pink head. Fresh cherry aroma with some tart cidery grapefruit, and wooden notes. Soft carbonation. Well balanced with a light sweetness, gentle acidity and some vague grapefruit bitterness interplaying. blankboy (2487), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear bubbly orange-amber with a large lasting fizzy pinkish-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of lightly tart cherries, sweet cherries and spices. Flavour’s somewhat sweet along with lightly tart cherries, light spices, wood and a dry lightly bitter finish. Medium bodied. No, it’s no sour bomb (which I love) but this is still an easy-to-drink and pleasant enough Fruit beer -- I enjoyed it. azlondon (461), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Brownish red. Nice amount of head.
Aroma: Cherry, not much else.
Taste: Very cherry and rather sweet. Still quenching.
Info: 250ml bottle, 3/3-2007, 156/500 HogTownHarry (3141), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jun 28, 2008 Bottle (375ml - corked & caged, green). Clear, bright cherry red pour, smallish pink diminishing fizzy head. Smells of sweet cherry and paper, only a light whiff of funk in the background - kind of artificial, really. The taste is all cherry popsicle, specifically INCLUDING the wooden stick in the middle. Syrupy, sticky, slightly acidic but mostly just like liquid candy - not great. thewolf (3392), Kolding, Denmark Jun 18, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Belgisk Bryg, Cph.
zpours clear red with a small, frothy off-white to light pink head. Aroma has light cherries, light tartness and some funkiness. Mouthfeel is light with relatively high carbonation. Flavour is mildly fruity, light tartness. There is not so much taste in here - not as artificial as some of the chapeau for example. Okay and quite drinkable.
