Mort Subite Kriekenlambik

[9/6/08] Tap sample during a festival at De Heeren van Liedekercke in Denderleeuw. Deep red color with no head. Aroma of cherries and a bit of sugar. Dry sour flavor with cherries, citrus and vinger notes and some astringency. Medium-bodied.

(Draught) Pours a clear red body with no head. Aroma of vinegar, earth, and cherries. Flavor is quite tart upfront and then shows more cherries and light cough syrup character as it warms.

Tap at WSF. Slight hazy deep red coloured with no head. Aromas of macaroons, almond essence, herbs and sour fruit. Dry and spicy flavour with notes of cherries, wood and barnyard.

Dark purple-brown. Interesting aroma with a slight toastiness and cherry pits. Light balsamic character leads to a very tart, bracing finish.

@WSF. Opaque burgundy or reddish-brown. Interesting malty aroma, smells almost like a Flemish sour. Lots of grain/malt and husk in the aroma. Sikly low carbonation and soft palate. Nice lactic touch is lip-puckering, tart, and yogurty. Acidic but nice. One of the more pungent, sharp ones but I like it.

Tap @ WSF. Muddy bloody red with no head. Fresh and slight tart cherry nose. Sweet and woody taste with some sourness and still a great deal almond. Not a favorite.

Hazy deep red with no head. Aroma of cherries, with wood and a herbal note. Dry and acidic cherry flavour, rather boring.

Draught @ WSF 2008. Deep burgundy with no head. Sour with cherries, almond, wood and and barnyard notes. Very refreshing.
