| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Pours a dark golden color with a small but strong head. Aroma is sour and acidic, very sour tangerines and tangerine skins. Taste is vinegar and a blanket of sour brett. The beer dries out at the end with just a bit of lingering acidity and vinegar sourness. The beer gets very acidic at its peak. The yeasty part adds a bit of sweet sourness (makes me think this would age very well). 375mL bottle from Grote, BB 05/07/2012, in a De Neve tumbler. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Clear amber colored body with a white head. Nose of acidic apple cider and honey, with a nearly-offensive bandaid and apple flavor throughout. Mild overall, but has some sharp and acidic qualities at times, and it finishes more bright and coarse. heavy (840), Split, Croatia
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2008 25/05 Nice, 100th rating for this beer. I had a 0.375 l bottle from belgianshop.com. It poured orange body with medium white head that went down quite fast. Nice, pretty typical good gueuze aroma, sourish vinegar with some subtle fruit, let’s say green apple. Flavor is maybe even better, sour, yes, but in very nice way, reminds of lemony and apple, but still not too fruity. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. I felt also bit of cork. Very nice, really enjoying it, finishing soursweetish as apple and orange. According to ratings here it should be just an average gueuze, but it’s best I’ve had, even comparing to some famous of the style. Great thing after many disappointing beers this night. Damn... forgot to check for the alcohol percentage. Opened with a strong pop. A body reminiscent of murky apricot juice with a medium to big white head that went away at a medium pace.... nice. The aroma was as good. A strong sourish vinegary/funky nose that manages to actually be harmonic. And then, the taste. Wow. The best lambic I’ve had so far. A fine lemony sourness dominates the taste supported by the subtle, nicely delicate funkiness just when it needs it the most. Notes of cork too. Astringent lemony finish. Oooh... I like this. A nice, refreshing, quality gueuze. Not mind bogglingly complex, not too rustic and you know, I like it that way. TBone (6799), Pori, Finland

Honey golden color, small white head. Tart lambic-nose with peach fruityness. Tart, dry lambic. Earthy notes. Lemony and fruity with a sweet edge under the sourness. Also typical lambic flavors which are like the flavor of bikecycle tyre or mango - choose one. Very balanced, crisp, refreshing. Quite splendid traditional gueze from Mort Subite.
