| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Slightly hazy deep golden body with a big fluffy white head leaving some laces; Very pleasant fresh quite sharp orange nose and a vinegar hay touch as well; Super fresh very balanced deep body with a big soft carbonation on quite soft textured pleasantly malic bite; Quite long finish with the malic acids playing a leading role, more hay like soil notes, maybe the dry hop can even be detected, very pleasant and fresh finish. Great beer, the brewers at MS can really do it (when they are allowed) Enjoyit (1722), Vadum, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2007 On tap at the famous Mort Subite cafe in Brussels, the oude gueze (Fond) is an approachable and enjoyable example of the style even if it does not cause "sudden death." Bursting with bubbles, the Fond is drinkable indeed but its tartness not intense enough to tantalize my tastebuds. My overall score reflects the pleasant experience of having this from the tap at the cafe. I would revisit the beer or the cafe gladly. Brix (373), Denmark

Sour, a bit citrusy, dry. But the aroma is far from being as strong as the good samples from Drie Fontainen and Cantillon, and the body from being complex as I would expect. Just refreshing. Pour a dirty, dull, cloudy orange. Big grapefruit aroma with lemon notes. Flavor was similar, with some faint mustiness in the backdrop, but mostly this was juicy and sour, strong on that grapefruit. Mildly acidic and dry. Not incredibly complex but still impressive, and I look forward to trying the oude kriek soon.
