jaghana (92), Strasbourg, France Nov 6, 2009 Bottle 37cl. A full reddish beer with very less carbonation. An heavy black cherry taste is present with relatively less acidity. Unbelieveble drinlable beer, not sour at all, hop flavour is not present. Quite sweet, a good beer for summer. planky84 (99), , Greater London, England Nov 3, 2009 Bottle from Beers of Europe.Light red pour with a pink head. Aromas of cherries, wood, slight smoke. Quite a sour nose. Flavours of lemon, red wine vinegar, sour cherries and a hint of tangerine. Dry,sour finish with a little sweetness. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Oct 9, 2009 Bottled St Albans BF 09. A dark dark red lambic with a lovely aroma of sweet black cherries and a touch of sourness. It’s the same in the mouth; great friendly fruit yet just enough sour acidity to make it a superior lambic. It’s reasonably funky yet also welcomingly approachable. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 14, 2009 2006 vintage, bottle #88138. Pours a hazy, dark, cherry red hue with a small but lasting cap of dusty, pink foam. A wet swath of soapy suds mostly rejoins the body, though a few, skinny, vertical trails of lacing show. The aroma gives some juicy cherry sweetness that fights it’s way through a musk of barnyard air and old, soured oak, with a decent twist of lemony, citric acidity
for balance. The flavor is sour and intense, taking on a bit of a cheesy, profile that shows just as strong as the sharp cherry. It burns quite acidic, almost bile-like at times, reminding me too much of I’ll fated college binge-fests that resulted in a not-so-pretty hommage to the porcelain god. Substantial in body for the style, the palate zips along with intense carbonation and the aforementioned, razor-sharp acidity. I’m glad to be able to broaden my horizons and try some new lambic producers on this trip,
and this one is no exception. Good, just not great. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Sep 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy reddish color with a small pinkish head. Has a fruity tart cherry aroma. Fruity tart cherry flavor with some oaky hints. Has a fruity tart cherry finish. Madsnp (610), Odense C, Denmark Sep 7, 2009 Bottle. Clear ruby red coloured with a creamy small pink head.
