hophead_hans (572), Bay Area, California, USA May 2, 2008 Bottle at Kulminator. Vintage 2006. Not a fan of lambics but I figured one needs to have one at such a cathedral to Belgian beer. I actually enjoyed the beer. Pours with a red color and a pink to purplish head. Aromas of funkiness and tart cherries. Flavor profile similar, very tart cherry notes together with lemons. What stuck out for me was how dry on the palate the beer, almost dusty like a great Merlot. This was a great palate clenaser between Belgian strong ales.
Dedollewaitor (2036), Odense, Denmark Aug 27, 2008 37,5cl bottle. Thanks a lot to plovmand. Pours pink with a small white head. Tart, cherries, fruity & fresh. Very dry. Good mouthfeel. Well balanced & very orig. lambic feel! thewolf (3608), Kolding, Denmark Aug 26, 2008 Bottle @ TFODRBSG, Ulfborg, 2008.
[thank you, plovmand]
Pours deep red with a small, frothy, pink head. Aroma is softly malty sweet, some fruity pulp with clear, tart cherries and light caramel behind it. Dry and wonderful mouthfeel. Lots of dry and tart cherries in the flavour - perhaps a bit one-sided, but otherwise nicely balanced. harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 8, 2008 Bottle at GBBF 08. Very cloudy deep red. Great fruit throughout. A load of lambic fans couldn’t pick what this was. It’s just lovely. A great blend of cherry/dark cherry fruit and sour lambic. Stunning really. So drinkable. Best beer of the day? Possibly. Bit of farmyard acidity throughout. A great lambic. budobrewery (5), , California, USA does not count Jul 28, 2008 On tap at Mort Subite brewpub in Brussels. Served in Mort Subite glassware. Cloudy pink head. Acidic sourness and dark cherry flavors. Good carbonation and mouthfeel.
