It looks quite sexy in the glass, with a clear, ruby body and a pinkish white head sitting on top. Fine lacings too. Cherry and almost does most of the aroma work, but leaves some for a spicy touch of cloves and cinnamon. Nice sourness in the mouth, with cherry, almond and some cinnamon notes. Sticky, sweet mouthfeel. Decent, but not my cup of tea. Way too sweet for that. (081108) MesandSim (5916), London, Greater London, England

This actually smells really good. Maybe it’s because it reminds me clearly of the cherry bakewell tarts I loved so much as a child. Full of jam, pastry and custard and rather lovely for it. Yes, it’s cheap and nasty but I can’t help but like it. The flavour is a strangely pleasing blend of cheap cherry cordial and sugary hard candy. I like it, I can’t help it. Faint apple Jolly Ranchers in the finish only adds to my enjoyment. Crap, yes. Far from quality no doubt. That said, I would not be against drinking another. tarjei (1753), Bryne, Norway

The nose is of cherries accompanied by sulphur and manure. Sweet. Cherries, elderflower and marzipan in the taste. Soapy. Nice lacework. Some coconut showing up. Sweet finish with marzipan dominating. Gets cloying after a few sips. Furseth (1333), Kungälv, Sweden
