Pours hazy amber/red with an off white head. Caramel malt in the aroma. Sweet flavor, balanced by a little bit of hop bitterness. I thought this was a decent showing. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Draught at the tap in Firenze. Muddy red wispy with lace. Earthy malt, dry roasted, grapefruit, dribble of coffee grounds. Very moreish little quencher, a little watery after some of the bigger house brews, but balancing hops and malt with finesse. daniele (1728), Italy

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 11, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Suave caramel maltiness is stabbed by a chick pea-like DMS protrusion (especially in the nose) before leafy hops sweep up and install a pleasant bitterness to this non-denominational red ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Creamy foam sits atop the hazy red.
-The mouthfeel is round and expertly crafted. But the friendly carbonation and slick body cannot get rid of the vegetable impressions.
-The hop presence is tea-like.
-The caramel sweetness is rather bulky for what seems to be designed as a quencher.
-I seem to have visited on a bad day; this brewery is getting reliable accolades and I get 2 flawed beers out of 3. I was told the regular brewer was pregnant, so she might not have been the one doing all the work in recent days?
On tap at the Prato taproom.
