Pours dark brown with a tan head. Little chocolate in the aroma with some malt as well. I thought it was a little thin though. DruncanVeasey (2768), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England

Right, according to the chalkboard this is a ’US Brown Ale’, but I’ve no idea what that is. To me, it drank like a strong English mild brewed with American hops, which gives it an immediate head start over any beer I’ve ever encountered in Italy, but doesn’t slot it tidily into any RB category. And amber can be pretty much any colour, so... Chocolate milk looks with a blossoming beige heap of suds. Nose coffee, wet dug earth, chocolate and dankness like an English mild. Earthy, biscuity and deep with insistent soapy grapefruit, nuthusk, hazelnut gelato, balancing bittersweetness. Lace drapes. Seriously impressive.
