jtw (916), farmington, Michigan, USA Sep 20, 2005 on tap at the 2005 detoberfest pubcrawl. ugh, a reminder why i don’t like wheat beers in general. authentically german yeastiness and sweet wheat presence, but way too much banana and bubblegum for me to really enjoy.... thehoff (522), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Jan 8, 2005 Orange, amber color with a lot of wheat floaties. Off white head. Smells strong, citrus, coriander. The taste is really sour. This tastes like a flemish sour. It’s like a mock flemish sour I guess. Hopefully it just isn’t one beer gone bad. nutbrownbabe (4), USA does not count Jun 15, 2004 I just had a BBQ and I got a quarter barrel of MCBW’s Amber Wheat. Even non wheat beer fans drank it up. I love this compared to most other wheat’s as I was not over powered by a floral aroma. Lots of bannana and citrus. So much fun. BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Nov 14, 2003 Hazy dark yellow hue with a big rocky white head and good lace. Aroma hints of wheat, lemon, spice, dusty yeast, and banana esters. Very traditional nose. More malty taste that most hefeweizens, I guess that's the amber part. Still can detect the citrus, wheat, and banana. Spicy and smooth finish. I respectable wheat by American standards. Quaffable. proc (343), Dearborn, Michigan, USA Aug 22, 2003 Amber Wheat pours out to well, amber, in the glass. I guess the name fits the color, eh? An interesting wheat beer. This one has a the taste of an amber ale with the added benefits of a hefe. Tasty and easy to drink, this would be a very good beer to pair up with BBQ.
