On tap at Zola Cafe - State College, PA. Apparently a contract brew for Mount Hill Tavern in Harrisburg that made its way to Zola. Aroma is a punchy dead grain character. Lots of half-rotten fusel grain notes and some cheesy old hop character. Not appealing. Pours a headess dark red-amber. Flavor is not enjoyable. Coarse, bitter and overwhelmed by bad grain character. Terse and unwelcoming. Alcohols are unclean. Flavor is messy and all over the place. Hard to get down. I was really surprised to learn that this was an Otto’s beer. Sweet, bitter, and with off-flavors.
