Commercial Description:
It is rich, with a roasted chocolate flavor, brewed in the tradional way. However, we have added a twist - a dash of rolled oats to add smoothness for the palate. This is all balanced with just enough hops to allow the full array of malts to shine through.

Dry roasted chocolate covered nuts with mild praline and salt notes. Soft with mild coffee and cocoa on the palate. very delicate and thin for the style. A clean and soft finish.

Draught at the brewpub
Pretty much black with medium brown head. Very chocolatey aroma with a light nuttiness. Creamy body, with lots of chocolate character. Not much else, really, but it tastes quite nice.

Deep dark stout with a thin moka head. Light chocolate aroma, not intense. In mouth, very strong bitter chocolate, burned coffee, and sharp hops. Astringent. Medium bodied IS with character, and oily mouthfeel, remaining in mouth. Russian River Beer Revival & Barbecue Cook-Off, August 20, 2005.
